West Maple Farms Community Garden Terms

West Maple Farms is committed to providing fair and equitable access to community garden plots for local residents at:

179 West Maple Ave, Monsey, NY 10952

Community garden space is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Each household may receive a maximum of one plot. Priority will be given to Monsey, NY residents before other applicants.

Purpose of the West Maple Farms Community Garden:

The purpose of the garden is to:

Provide a space for people of all ages to experience the rewards of gardening.

Promote organic farming methods and sustainable living.

Foster community pride and unity.

Encourage environmental stewardship and awareness.

Each person wishing to participate shall be known as a “Gardener.”

Application Process:

Residents interested in securing a community garden plot must complete this form to join the waiting list. If there are more applicants than available plots, a lottery system will determine plot assignments.

Community Garden Agreement:

By signing this agreement, the Gardener agrees to abide by all operating rules (see Attachment A) throughout their membership. The Garden Committee reserves the right to amend and enforce the rules as necessary.

Garden Plot Term:

If a Gardener can no longer participate, they must notify the Garden Committee as soon as possible. The Committee will reassign the plot at its discretion.

Gardeners may not assign or transfer their plot to another individual.

Fees & Security Deposit:

Garden Plot Fee (Annual): $150.

Garden Features:

The West Maple Farms Community Garden consists of raised-bed plots measuring 4 feet by 12 feet.

The garden will operate as an organic garden and will be enclosed by fencing.

A designated community plot will be maintained by a Committee appointee, and food proceeds from this plot will be donated to local charities.

Liability Waiver & Indemnification:

The undersigned Gardener recognizes that participation in the garden is a privilege. By signing this agreement, the Gardener and any guests, employees, or contractors they invite release and discharge West Maple Farms, its owners, agents, employees, and representatives from any claims or liability related to loss, injury, or damages that may arise from participation.
The undersigned Gardener further agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless West Maple Farms from any legal claims or damages resulting from their participation. If enforcement of this agreement is required, the Gardener agrees to pay any legal fees incurred.
